The easy, colorful answer to the papers littering your desk, this organizer is a quick craft and a long lasting solution. I've had one on my desk for years and it took me about 15 or 20 minuets to make. Here's how!
What you need:

Begin by cutting the tops off the boxes. Cut about a third off the top of one box and half off of the other. To do this start at the top and cut a slit down one corner of the box, then slide the scissors into the slit and cut around all 4 sides. Use a hot glue gun to glue the two boxes together, face to face.

Measure the depth, width, and height of the box, as shown with the red arrows. Use these dimensions to outline the sides of the box on scrapbook paper. A "L" shape for the two ends, a strip for the front, and a large section to unify the two sections (this section covers the front of the back box and the inside of the front box). Glue the paper to the box and finish the edges with washi tape. Fold each piece of tape over the edges for a nice smooth look.
And that's it! Stuff with homework, envelopes, artwork, photos, etc. Between this paper organizer and the craft caddy, my desk stays pretty neat. Try it for your desk too.
