A fun, messy project that brings an exciting pop of color to any plain paper! Make a heart and give the color to a friend or cut out your favorite logos and brighten your room.
What you need:

Step 1:
Trace your design onto a sheet of paper. For the heart I traced a clothing tag, for the other designs I traced a picture on my computer.
Step 2:
Cut inside the lines you just traced, so you end up with a hole the shape of your design. This is your stencil or template.

Step 3:
Lay the template on top of another sheet of paper and gently tape them together. Don't press the tape down too much, because it will rip the paper when you try to remove it latter.
Step 4:
Get ready to paint! Lay out a plastic tablecloth or newspapers to protect the surface you paint on and choose two to four colors of paint for your design and a paint brush. Two reasons why a flimsy cheap brush works best: one, you don't want to risk damaging an expensive brush, two, flexible brushes are most effective for flicking paint.

Step 5:
Dipping the brush in one color at a time, hold the brush low and close to the paper and flick the bristles with your finger. It may take a while to fill in the design enough to satisfy, and a lot of paint will end up outside the design. Once the paint is dry and the template is removed, however, the design will be clear with all the excess paint on the stencil.

Ta-da! A beautiful explosion of paint! This project is so easy, I've done it several times already.
Enjoy!
