Soft fleece, interactive flaps and holes, bright colors, and a handle to carry it all around. Purses and bags are always fun for kids and these bags are shaped like a cute castle! I designed these to go with finger puppet sets but any little dolls or toys go well with these fun totes. Stick with this castle pattern or design your own cottage, barn, or fortress.
What you need:

Begin with a quarter yard of fabric. Cut a rectangle 10 inches by 7 inches, plus a little extra for seam allowance. Cut out the windows, door, and battlements, as shown below.

Felt/fleece does not fray, so none of the edges have to be sewn. The embroidery floss gives the purse cute accents, however, so it's up to you how much sewing you want to do. I would advise using a coordinating embroidery floss to sew the door and the windows. The pink material I used turned out to be fabric that frays, so I had to hem the top and the door frame. Make sure the material you use is non-fraying! Sew a button beside the door and sew a loop through the door for the latch.

Fold the castle in half so that the pretty sides are touching. Sew along both sides and flip right side out. Cut a length of ribbon 1-2 feet long and attach an end to each side. (The length depends on the size of the child but it doesn't have to be precise.)

And that's it! Super simple and super cute. I don't really do complicated patterns....lol. Check out the patterns for finger puppets when you get done with these!
